Rebel without a cause

The Tokyo Olympics in 1964 was the Big Bang of Japanese bicycle industry, but a year ago in pre-Olympic, the Olympic qualifying race brought us another impact. It was before the sports bike become popular in Japan.
The race was filled with cheers and excitement with the racers from all over the world, just like the actual Olympic game. Yoshi Konno, the younger brother of CHERUBIM founder Hitoshi Konno, raced as a representative of Tokyo and could finished in 7th, but missed the Olympics.
Konno brothers who highly love competitions cheered him like a teenager in rebellious period, and shared this wonderful but bittersweet moment.
It was 2 years before the first CHERUBIM was born. Since then they focused the passion towards more to building competition bicycles, and eventually gained the reputation as “Konno Three Brothers”.
